Angkor Wat Homework for Tuesday's lesson

Your homework for Angkor Wat for Tuesday's lesson is to watch the rest of the video clips on 'digging for the truth: Angkor Wat' and to fill in your answer in the form that I've already sent to your email. Please submit it by midnight your time so that I can check your homework by noon (Thai time)

As for Becky, you will need to watch the video clips on Angkor Wat which appear to be on the top right of my blog, watch all five of them, use the study guide on Angkor Wat for your guiding questions. I have already posted the Angkor Wat study guide on the blog earlier. After that, check your email, I have already sent you a form, answer all questions by filling in the form and send it back to me. You have an extra day to complete it. I am sure that you'll love the story of Angkor Wat on those clips and make your way to visit it one day.

Have a great day everyone. You all are wonderful.

Hi everyone,
Your unit test on Friday morning will includes all the topics you've studied with the exception of the Loy Krathong Festival and the Mekong River. To clarify this a bit more, the topics included are countries of SEA, colonial history of each country, and geography. I'll put all of your friend's PowerPoint and prezi's presentations on the blog for you guys.

On Friday morning, everyone is going to take a test in the computer lab, your exam will be send from me to your email addresses. But before the exam, we are going to listen to news of SEA countries from East Timor, Singapore, Myanmar, and the Philippines. The news reporters are Brittany, Tara, Savannah, and Mccully respectively.

You are going to do a research on SEA countries and select at least two countries you'd like to visit most. Once you make your decision, you'll take turn to talk to me before the class end.
Good luck for the test tomorrow!!

Homework for this weekend

Two assignments are due on Sunday night at 8 pm your time.

1. Writing a paragraph or two describing an American festival similar to Loi Krathong festival of Thailand in a word document. You might want to response to the following questions. 1. What is it called? 2. What do people do on that day? What activities are performed on that day? Why is it important? How do you personally involve in the festival?

2. Writing a one page essay on 'Why Southeast Asia matters to the world community?' In simple words, why do people study this region? Considering its economic value, culture, location or any other aspects, what really make Southeast Asia so important to the world society? You may want to do an online research to support your argument. Also, I'd really like to make it personal by including your own experiences (if any) and ideas in your essay.

Please attach your documents on festival description and essay to your email and send it to

Our 3rd lesson

Hi everyone, I'm really excited to see your presentation today. We might spend around an hour to cover every one's presentation. However, I would like to spare the last half an hour of our class on the very important festival of Thailand which falls today Nov 10, this year. It's called Loi Krathong Festival. You all are going to learn about this festival, and perhaps sing a "Loi Krathong Song" with me!!

Colonial History of Southeast Asia (2nd lesson)

Hi all
Here are my presentation and Study Guides on Colonial History of Southeast Asia nations.

Presentation: Colonial History of Southeast Asia

Homework for absent students

Hi students
Homework for class on Tuesday the 8th is to conduct a small research on colonial history of a country of your choice of Southeast Asia nations and give a presentation on Thursday, Nov 10. Students are given an opportunity to select if they would like to present their findings using either PowerPoint, Keynote, or Preszi. Questions needed to be answered are in the Study Guides of Colonial History of Southeast Asia. According to your school's rules, those absent will be given one extra day to complete homework. Ms. Anderson will handle this herself, therefore if you have any questions on the due date of your homework, please consult Ms. Anderson. Any questions regarding the homework itself, please post comments on SEA group on Facebook and Kru Tuke will respond to your question as soon as possible.

Note: Since Thailand was not formerly colonized by any European nations, it is not an option for the research topic.

Thank you very much
