Homework for Today's class

Your assignments for today's class and for this week topic are as followed:
1. I hope you still remember the Fact File of Malaysia, I hope you have already completed it. Please send it to me via email.
2. Please watch the video clips on Sisters in Islam on the right hand on the website that I've posted the link on your right hands. This link will lead you too a PBS webpage which information and video clip of Zainah Anwar is posted. Please click the 'High cable/dsl' and see if you can watch it. I had an issue before watching this clip myself as it required 'real player' to be set up in my computer. If it doesn't work for you, don't worry about that and maybe try to do some research on question 1-3. You should be able to answer question 4-5 from the clip 'Global Fund for Women'

  1. What is Zainah Answer educational background?
  2. How did her interest in woman's right start?
  3. What was Zainah's feeling towards her farther?
  4. What did Zainah and Sisters in Islam do to help Muslim women?
  5. Why do Muslim women in other parts of the world think of Zainah as their Allah?
3. I forgot to tell you about this assignment in our class because we had so little time left. Please write a 500 word reflection on inequality of woman in comparison to man in Muslim world and Sisters in Islam. I would like to hear your view on these two topics. You may want to conduct a minor research for your references. Please also watch video clips under 'Global Fund for Women' and 'Muslim Women Conference on Equality' for reflection and you can use the video clips on the blog as your reference too.

Important!
The first and the second assignments are due on Saturday night by 8 pm. I don't think it's gonna be too hard for all of you to complete that in time for me.

As for the third assignment, I will give you more time for you to complete it. This is because you still have to do the research project and write a trip journal, which will still be due on Sunday by 8 pm.

The Reflection essay is due on Tuesday the 20th by 8 pm.

As for class next week, we will be spending time on the poster presentation and have some fun talking about holidays of Southeast Asia. As soon as you get back from your Christmas and New Year break, we are going to do some serious Thai cooking!! Ms. Anderson and I have already made a plan for that!

I really enjoy having you all as my students. ^_____^
